Slowing down in the Mediterranean
You know those days where everything is overwhelming and you are too exhausted to think straight? It wasn't that long ago that my husband and I found ourselves in this situation. We decided to go on a little break to a beautiful farm on Mallorca. Apart from a few chickens and sheep there are not many distractions around us (obviously, there is a bit of internet so that I can write and post on IG but that's it). We spend our days with reading, preparing meals together and hanging out by the sea if it suits us. On the trees next to our little house oranges, figs and almonds grow that are always tempting me to just pick them all and make something delicious. Life is slower round here and I can feel how my body and my mind have started to relax.
I'm happy and feel like I have found that 'Heiterkeit' (cheerfulness) again. Slowing down has helped me to sort my thoughts and appreciate the beautiful things in my life. I feel revitalised and can't wait to get started on my creative projects. Are you an advocate of living a slow life? What do you do to feel grounded?
