Join The Heiter Society.
You take care of everyone around you. Let heiter take care of you.
The Heiter Society is the perfect place for you if you’d like to experience more joy, simply have some “you-time” after a long day full of responsibilities, expand your social circle and feel less alone, get creative or try out something new.
Who is part of The Heiter Society?
heiter readers, contributors and community members; creative women who live full lives. They juggle family and career (often their own businesses), yet strive to live with purpose and intention, seeking meaning and beauty amid the everyday.
Through workshops, get-togethers and more, heiter offers them a space to feel good — one that inspires joy, self-care, creativity, and comes with a community of like-minded individuals, too.
In Their Own Words
“Life can full and ever-changing, but I want to live with intention. heiter is my permission slip to feel good. It reminds me to slow down for a moment, to find beauty in the details, and to reconnect with joy – even when things around me are stressful and chaotic.”
The 3 Heiter Society levels
We have three different levels designed to support you at whatever stage you are on your journey.
Patron
Perfect for those of you who look to support heiter and become a part of the wider heiter community.
Every month you get to enjoy one workshop on creativity, lifestyle or well-being. The workshops (aka Heiter Sessions) take place every second Wednesday of the month, primiarily at 7.30pm UK time | 8.30pm CET. You can find our upcoming dates here.
As Patron you also receive discounts on heiter events as well as instant access to our Heiter Society Book Club (we meet four times a year to discuss our latest reads).
Advocate
Perfect for those you want to be a committed participant in the Society.
Through the monthly workshops Advocates learn something new, care for themselves or get creative. Through the regular get-togethers they feel like they really are part of the supportive and kind community; they network and build friendships. Through the monthly meditation sessions, they feel calmer, more optimistic and resilient.
Advocates receive all heiter print magazines that launch during their membership. They additionally get access to a private community chat, discounts to heiter events and the invitation to join The Heiter Society Book Club.
Partner
Heiter Society Partners are committed “stewards” that help to sustain the work of heiter and would like support for their own well-being AND small business!
Like Advocates, they have the opportunity to join monthly workshops every second Wednesday of the month, regularly network and connect with the other Heiter Society members as well as attend meditation sessions. On top of that, they come together for monthly group-consulting sessions (every last Wednesday morning of the month) and co-working (every last Friday morning of the month). Another plus of being a Heiter Society Partner is our “Partners directory”: each partner and their businesses/services are listed in each magazine and e-zine and get right in front of the heiter readership. There’s no better way of promoting a business!
Good to know: Partners receive a welcome gift including the latest heiter print publication and a heiter journal when they join, and once a year they get invited the an annual partners in-person get-together (the next one will be in Edinburgh in the second half of September 2026).
More Partner benefits: each heiter print magazine that launches during their membership delivered to their home. Access to a private community chat, discounts to heiter events and the invitation to join The Heiter Society Book Club.

HOW IT ALL STARTED - A NOTE FROM FOUNDER KATHARINA:
“Back in early 2022, I felt isolated and overwhelmed with my (at that point) fairly new double role as a mum and independent business owner. I wanted to take out time for myself and my well-being, and feel “heiter” (German for cheerful/joyful) again but I didn’t know where to start.
I wanted to change the way I felt, and guess what? I did.
In April the same year, I founded the Heiter Society – and things shifted for me: I suddenly found myself surrounded by like-minded women; women who are creative, clever, kind, supportive, and real—women who have had a similar journey to me. I suddenly felt understood. I suddenly had people around me to share creative and fun experiences and workshops with. I suddenly had monthly sessions booked into my calendar that would allow me to learn, experiment, and help me feel happier and energized. On top of that, I soon noticed that I felt calmer, optimistic, and even more resilient to the happenings around me, too.
To me, the society is a safe and heiter haven filled with supportive friends. To me, it is a haven that has helped me get out of feeling isolated and overwhelmed. There’s no bigger joy than seeing our members experience the same now”.
Katharina Geissler-Evans, Founder & Editor-in-Chief, heiter
THE MISSION
The aim of the society is to help you find and celebrate joy beyond the pages. By offering a variety of creative and lifestyle sessions, monthly get-togethers, a community chat, regular meditation sessions and bonuses like The Heiter Society Book Club or discounts to in-person heiter events, we would like to enhance and strengthen feelings of Heiterkeit (which is German for joy) as well as the feeling of connection. In other words: we’d like you to feel good.
MORE REASONS TO BECOME PART OF THE HEITER SOCIETY
Joining The Heiter Society will help you feel supported, connected & as a part of a tight-knit community. You will calmer, positive, and ready to see and enjoy all the heiter things that are available to you right now. Opposite feelings of Heiterkeit are feelings like loneliness and overwhelm. To work against them, we need to build relationships and true connections. Yes, chatting on social media is fun and can bring joy, but to truly enjoy ourselves is strongly linked to sharing experiences with others. By offering a community, regular gatherings and heiter workshops, we help you to experience more joy, and that with ease: all you need to do is show up. We sort out the rest for you.
OUR ONLINE EVENTS + SOCIETY AREA

Frequently Asked Questions: The Heiter Society
Below, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide you with all the necessary information to make the most out of your society experience.
Q: What is The Heiter Society?
A: The Heiter Society is designed to help our readers find and celebrate joy in their everyday life. By offering a variety of creative, wellbeing and lifestyle sessions, we would like to strengthen the feeling of connection and general Heiterkeit (which is German for joy).
Q: How can I join?
A: Joining The Heiter Society is simple! Just visit our online shop and click on the "Society" tab. From there, you will see an overview of the different society levels. We offer monthly payment options (cycles). Select the level that suits you and your life situation most right now and pay securely via our shop. You can chose between Paypal and Credit Card as payment options. Future (automatic) payments will be set as a subscription via Stripe for you. Once your first payment is completed, we will be in touch and give you access to all the features and benefits available to our members. Alternatively, you can become a Heiter Society Patron by setting up a paid monthly subscription on Substack.
Q: How much does the joining The Heiter Society cost?
A: Our fees vary depending on the society level you choose. The monthly subscription fee for “Patrons” is GBP17, for “Advocates” GBP27 and for “Partners” GBP77.
Q: Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
A: Absolutely! We understand that circumstances may change, which is why we offer flexibility to society members. You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time by emailing the society support team. Please note that you will have to inform us at least 5 days prior to your next monthly payment. If you fail to inform us within that time frame, we have to ask you to pay for another full month.
Q: When do you run the individual sessions?
A: The majority of our heiter sessions (creative, well-being, fashion and lifestyle workshops) are on a Wednesday evening (7.30pm UK time | 8.30pm CET) so that they support you in switching off and doing something for yourself after a long day of work or caring for your loved ones. All get-togethers are held on the third Wednesday of the month (7.30pm UK time | 8.30pm CET). The meditation sessions run every second Friday of the month (8.00am UK time | 9.00am CET) Group consulting and co-working sessions for partners are held on the last Wednesday and Friday morning of the month (both days at 10am UK time | 11am CET).
Q: Where do you run the individual sessions?
A: We use zoom for our all sessions. The workshops are recorded and shared with everyone via email afterwards. They are also saved in a private society area on the heiter website that long-term members (after your first six membership months) can access when and as often as you like. So, even if you miss a live heiter workshop, you will be able to watch it (in your own time).
Q: Who are the guest speakers?
A: Our guest speakers are external creatives, coaches and industry experts whose values align with the heiter values. We make sure that what they deliver has substance and is in line with what our members need. What is lovely is that many of the guest speakers are also heiter readers and supporters.
Q: Do I need to join the private community chat?
A: You don’t - but we recommend it! Our online community is not like others: every member is kind, respectful and supportive, and it never gets too loud or overwhelming in there. We use the (WhatsAoo) group chat for reminders, to celebrate individual members but also share information that you might not get anywhere else.
Q: How can I stay on top of all sessions?
A: We have a dedicated google calendar that is shared with you at the beginning of your subscription. All sessions (and the relevant zoom links) will be linked to the calendar on your phone or computer and you never have to worry about looking for them. In addition, we email out updates and news at the beginning of each month and reminders with all details 1-2 days prior to the individual session. More reminders are shared in private WhatsApp group.
Q: Can I share my Heiter Society subscription with others?
A: Unfortunately, Society subscriptions are intended for individual use only. Sharing your credentials with others is not permitted under our terms and conditions. However, we do offer gift subscriptions, which allow you to share the Heiter Society experience with your loved ones.
Q: How can I contact customer support regarding my subscription?
A: If you have any questions or concerns regarding your Heiter Society subscription, our society support team is here to assist you. You can reach us via email.
We hope this FAQ section has answered your questions about heiter’s membership programme. Should you require any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our dedicated support team.
